FIT TIP WITH PEAK - THORACIC MOBILITY FOR GOLFERS

Have you ever wondered why your golf game is not improving even though you have taken numerous lessons and are practicing? Sometimes, the answer is in your body, and the imbalances you have, that you might be unaware of, are preventing you from making the move either you or your golf coach wants you to make. One that stands out is a lack of mobility in the Thoracic Spine. This prevents a golfer from making an adequate shoulder rotation and decreases their ability to create hand depth in the back swing.

To work on T-spine mobility we want to stabilize the hip complex and practice rotating the upper back against the lower body. Two low impact exercises we like to have people do are Side Lying Windmills and Stabilized Thoracic rotations with increases in lateral flexion.
